About

Roughly 80% of Yellowstone National Park is covered in forest. In higher elevations, you can find lodgepole pine, Engelmann spruce, subalpine fir, limber pine, and whitebark pine. Lower elevations feature Douglas-fir and rocky mountain juniper. These trees are an integral element in Yellowstone’s ecosystem in terms of fire renewal, wildlife habituation, temperature regulation, and air filtration. (National Park Service).
