About
Whether they were park rangers, concessioner staff members, or tourists, women have always been an important part of Yellowstone National Park and have made many valuable contributions to the park throughout its history. Notable women of Yellowstone National Park include Marguerite Lindsley, the first full-time permanent female park ranger in the entire National Park system and Herma Albertson Baggley, Yellowstone's first permanent female naturalist.
The Yellowstone Research Library collection includes histories, biographies, and memoirs on the history of women in Yellowstone and the surrounding region.
